Behind the Scenes

Wedding Pins - a Project That Demands a Frame.

Last year around this time I was deep in the planning process for our upcoming wedding. While much of planning was dry logistics – how many two liter bottles of soda do we need per 100 people – there were plenty of delightful elements. One of my favorite planning projects was this series of enamel pins for all our guests.

The pins were an identifier and a conversation starter. A subtler version of the ‘Hi, my name is ______’, the pins allowed at a quick glance to know how a guest was connected to us. A deep dish pizza pin signified that you knew Eoanna from Chicago. A Greek column pin showed you were part of the Hellenic family. An avocado pin indicated that you met Eoanna and I out in California, etc. etc.

All these beautiful pins were designed just for the wedding by our good friend and immensely talented designer, Nick Dunlap. As a small token of gratitude for all his help, I finally got around to creating a shadow box to showcase his stellar work.
